Thread Chasing Unit

Features

  • Servodriven Unit quickly and automatically chases threaded holes or external features; by powering a thread-chasing tool into (or onto) and out of (or off of) the part.
  • Will chase blind features to full depth.
  • Will remove weld spatter, lodged chips, burrs, cured paint, etc.
  • Sensitive drive allows the chasing tool to stop in case of missing or heavily damaged threads, preventing the possibility of cutting a new thread. This registers a fault, creating a “reject” signal. In automated applications, rejects can be separated out without stopping the process.
  • Will not jam or stick in wrong-sized or blocked threads. The Unit’s reverse torque is higher than the entering torque.

  • Three flange-mounted models; will chase threads from M3 through M50
  • Quick to set up and use. Will mount in any orientation.
  • Unit includes matching servodrive (fig. 1), with motion programming.
  • For threads that can be off-axis or off-angle, see our
    Off-axis adapters

Capacities

• Cycle times shown are for threads where the length is equal to the diameter and no Rapid Advance Mechanism is required.
