Performed after washing,
hole verification confirms that a hole is present and free of chips
and debris. This check can be done in the washer or in a separate
station. This page shows two approaches. The right picture shows
fiber optic sensing being used in the washer to verify the unobstructed
presence of a small diameter angled hole. The left picture shows
a different part in a clamp station, where mechanical hole probing
is executed.
These two examples are
both plain-bore holes. For threaded holes, we utilize Thread
Verification Units to guarantee threads are to size,
depth, and free of debris.
